Hi, I've just had to set up some new PCs for developers (Nimbus Partners Ltd license - I use BC personally and at work) and installed BC under an administrator account. Once the domain accounts were available for the developers I found that logging in as them shows that BC is unregistered. The reason is that the license key is put in HKCU instead of HKCM. Can this be changed as most software puts its license key in a system wide location. If Terminal Services/Citrix is the issue then you could always detect that and use a user specific area in that case. You can copy your key into a file named bc2.key in the installation directory and BC will read it from there instead of the registry. For those network administrators: You can also put bc2.key in the same directory as the install program (eg, on a network drive), and it will register BC automatically when it's installed.Hi, does this work with bc3, too?
Our company plans to purchase several licenses and I'll have to install it on some of our Remote Desktop Servers / XenApp-Servers and take care that all licensed users are able to work with the program without having to register it on their own. Our preferred ways of installing a program is either using a portable version or installing it in unattended mode at system startup. I've noticed that the portable version stores all settings in the program folder, so this wouldn't work properly.
If it's possible to install bc3 from a directory containing the license key file, this version would be easy. Thank you Arrakis. Hello, If you use BC3's Portable Install option, and install to a directory that has read/writer permissions (C: Beyond Compare 3 ), then that would be an option. We also have a KB article about running BC3's setup from the network, which would auto-populate the key: The other method is to manually copy the BC3Key.txt file into a registration location manually. This is either in that user's%AppData% Scooter Software Beyond Compare 3 folder, or in the installation directory. A user can have their independent settings stored in AppData independent of the Key location. Did you need to have a user's settings in the installation folder, too, or does only the registration need to be controlled?
Hey John, I only mentioned the web API because I wasn't sure if you were checking from your webservers. But it sounds like you're checking from the end-user side, in which case you must use IsGenuine.
The problem isn't that it's expensive with our servers. The problem is that not everyone has flawless internet connections. For instance, let's say your service checks if it's genuine on the customer's machine and their internet is down - what happens?
Cyberadmin pro 5 full sin publicidad google translate. Do you punish the user because they have flaky internet (that is, IsGenuine returns TAEINET)? I think checking every 24hours (or every restart) is a bit drastic. Checking every week is more reasonable.
Sure, if you revoke a product key the revocation won't be immediate, but at most they get a few days of extra usage. Checking once a month is my recommendation. My main concern is that you must consider end-user experience. For instance, let's say their internet is down for whatever reason (lightning storm, natural disaster, bob from accounting tripped over the ethernet cords), and they restart their computers.

The last thing you want to do is compound their problem by disabling your app because it can't connect to the internet. Also you need to consider cases where users are explicitly blocking the internet connection (either just to wyday or for your whole kernel driver). So your calls to IsGenuine must be prepared to gracefully back off until some hard limit is reached. So let's say you've reached the time of month to call IsGenuine and it fails to contact wyday. Instead of disabling your app immediately, notify the user that they need to unblock the internet to your app, and try again every day for the next week.
If the connection still fails after a week of retrying, then disable your app and notify the user. Of course there are reasons to check sooner. For instance, let's say you have a feature value that contains some date url=updateexpires/url:3j9sxy2h.
If the date in updateexpires has been reached you might want to call IsGenuine to check if their is new feature data to download. Does this make sense? Site Admin Posts: 5509 Joined: July 11th, 2007, 10:30 pm Location: New Hampshire.
You will have to resolve the suspension issues in IL before you can apply for a license in ANY state. On the application you would fill out in GA are the questions asking if you have ever had a license in another state & has that license ever been suspended/revoked.
If you answer truthfully, you will be automatically denied. If you lie & say no to both questions, you have committed a criminal offense & could go to jail for fraud, falsifying a legal document or other charges. Regardless of how you answer those questions, GA will run a license history on you to see if you have had a license before & the status. A lease is a temporary property right (possession for a term) and a license is a right to do something otherwise prohibited. A lease or license for more than one year must usually be in writing to be enforceable. Oral licenses are very common ('you can ride your bike in my driveway') and can often be revoked at will ('stay off my property'). Answer Though a license is similar to a lease in the sense that it allows a right to enjoy the immovable property of the grantor yet it does not create any interest in the property.
In order to determine whether a transaction is a lease or a license, the substance of the document should be preferred to the form and importance should also be given to the intention of the parties. Intention of parties is very important to determine whether a particular transaction is lease or licence. It is a lease only if it creates an interest in the property.
If it merely permits another to make use of the property, it is a license. Certification is granted by a professional organization, usually after a educational and/or testing process has been met. Once certified, a license may be obtained from the appropriate government agency. A license is a requirement to practice many professions. Example: Registered nurses must obtain certification from National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN). They may then apply for licensure from their state board of nursing.

That is not always true. The Federal Aviation Administration does not issue a license. They only issue certificates. There is no such thing as a pilot's license or aircraft mechanics license. These are both certificates. A license will expire but a certification doesn't. Certifications may require additional training to maintain the currency of the certificate but they are valid until surrendered, suspended, or revoked.
